Our Process
01.
Booking Your Session.
Once you’ve chosen your session, a booking fee (or voucher) secures your date in my diary. I’ll guide you on the best timing for your newborn session and answer any questions you may have.
02.
Your Session Day.
Join me at the studio for a calm and relaxed session. With gentle posing and plenty of breaks for feeding and cuddles, we’ll capture a beautiful mix of portraits.
03.
Your Gallery Reveal.
Within 2 weeks, you’ll receive a private online gallery of around 25–30 edited images. From here, you can choose your favourites included in your package and explore upgrade options such as additional digitals, prints, or heirloom keepsakes.
04.
Receiving Your Memories.
Your chosen images will be carefully prepared and delivered digitally. If you’ve selected wall art, albums, or prints, these will be lovingly produced and ready for you to enjoy at home — timeless memories to treasure forever.
FAQ
How many pictures will we receive?
Your finished gallery will include around 25–30 beautifully edited images, thoughtfully chosen to reflect the best moments from your session. Each image is hand-finished with care, giving you a timeless collection of memories to treasure.
What’s the best time to have a session with a newborn?
The ideal time for a newborn session is within the first 2 weeks, when babies are still very sleepy and curly, perfect for those dreamy, snuggled-up poses. Sessions can take place up to 4 weeks old, capturing all the same love and precious details — just with a little more stretch and personality as your baby grows.
Are Siblings Included?
Yes, absolutely! Siblings are always welcome to be part of your newborn session. These moments are just as much about celebrating your growing family as they are about your newest arrival, and I love capturing those precious bonds between brothers and sisters.
What is Included ?
Each session at The Little Chapter Studio is thoughtfully designed to give you a relaxed, beautiful experience from start to finish. Your session includes 5 hand-edited digital images, chosen by you from your final gallery, each finished with care and attention to detail. You’ll also have full use of my carefully curated collection of studio props, wraps, and outfits, all selected in soft, neutral tones to create timeless images that will never go out of style. Every photograph in your gallery is lovingly edited to the highest standard, ensuring you receive a set of images that truly reflect the beauty of these fleeting newborn days. And if you fall in love with more than the included images, there is always the option to purchase additional digitals, prints, or heirloom keepsakes to complete your collection.
How should we dress for our family session?
For the most beautiful and timeless look, I recommend keeping outfits soft and simple. Neutral tones such as creams, beige, whites, and gentle pastels photograph beautifully and allow your baby to remain the focus of the images. Lighter clothing also creates a soft, natural style that feels elegant and classic. Coordinating rather than matching works best, with simple textures over bold patterns.
We don’t feel very confident in front of the camera, is that ok?
You don’t need to worry at all — most of the families I photograph feel the same way! My sessions are very relaxed and guided, so you’ll never be left wondering what to do. I’ll gently direct you into natural interactions with your baby, focusing on connection and love rather than stiff posing. The result is beautiful, authentic images that feel effortless — even if you’re not confident in front of the camera.
How Long is The First Embrace Experience?
The First Embrace Experience typically last between 2–3 hours. This extra time allows us to work at your baby’s pace, with plenty of breaks for feeding, cuddles, and soothing so you never feel rushed. Every session is calm and relaxed, giving space for those naturally sleepy, curled-up poses as well as family and sibling portraits. My goal is to create a peaceful experience for you while capturing a timeless collection of images that truly reflect these fleeting early days.
